ITC Approved Trainers

An individual who wishes to deliver ITC qualification is termed an ITC Provider.  An organisation such as a further Education College who wishes to deliver ITC qualifications is termed an ITC Centre.  The menu on the left allows you to:

  • understand the ITC pathway for Provider approval
  • browse approved Provider Induction events by date or region
  • find answers to frequently asked questions

If you wish to deliver ITC First Aid training and qualifications the first step is to become an approved ITC Provider. 

We have a regular programme of 2-day Induction events to begin the approval process. The Induction event introduces organisational procedures, documents and teaching & assessment methods of ITC, using the EFAW (Emergency First Aid at Work) course as a vehicle to illustrate ITC methodology.  This begins the process to become accredited to deliver EFAW.  Once accredited to deliver EFAW Providers may also follow the accreditation path to:

  • deliver HSE qualifications for the workplace e.g. First Aid at Work
  • deliver SQA accredited qualifications e.g. Outdoor First Aid
  • deliver OfQual accredited qualifications e.g. Paediatric First Aid, Sports First Aid
  • deliver tailored qualifications e.g. Motorcyclist First Aid, Expedition First Aid

If you represent a large organisation or educational establishment you may wish your organisation to be approved as an ITC Centre.

Recognising different business needs ITC also offers a direct route to become accredited to deliver Outdoor First Aid or Paediatric First Aid qualifications.  You are assigned a mentor who will take you through all aspects of delivering the ITC qualifications of your choosing.  You must apply using the LA1 (policy/procedures link at bottom of page) guidance to write a letter of application.  There is sometimes a waiting list for this route.
